Louisiana Pasha

Brimming with music and culture, LOUISIANA PASHA tells the story of a privileged Louisiana barn kitty who is sent to New Orleans to sow his wild oats. Surviving a pandemic, hurricane, and forbidden love, he returns home to wrest his barn from a pair of evil nutrias and unite feuding factions of kitties before it's too late.

Setting

Louisiana Pasha takes us on a colorful journey from a rustic barn in the swamps of rural Louisiana to the vibrant  city of New Orleans. A recurring aesthetic is glitter, rhinestones, and sparkles. 

Visual Style

Although this film takes place in modern times, the art work and style are intended to have a vintage 1970’s feel.  

 

Themes Explored

This story is about overcoming divisiveness and finding a way to co-exist, with music, food and moments of joy, which ultimately makes Pasha a great leader.

From Concept to Screenplay

LOUISIANA PASHA was inspired by the children's book, The Bellydancing Kitties of Constantinople, written by Tamalyn Dallal-Harris and illustrated by Ayako Date.  It is a timeless, coming of age story of overcoming division and prejudice that is needed in today's climate.
